On Saturday September 26, from 1–3pm, Tropic Editions is pleased to welcome Dan Taulapapa McMullin to our booth (S2) for a book signing and launch of their newest publication, Our Bodies Are Memories of Our Bodies.

Our Bodies Are Memories of Our Bodies is a collection of poetry and visual works rooted in Samoan forms including siapo (barkcloth) geometry, weaving, and the song traditions of Samoan storytelling. The publication explores family, the lives of faʻafafine, desire, loss, and the ways colonialism shapes what bodies carry, what tongues can name, and what forms of sovereignty remain. Poems, marks, and patterns move together across the page, drawing on Indigenous Pacific traditions to give form to what cannot always be spoken or seen, yet nevertheless persists, signing and dancing through memory, ancestry, and the body.

Please come by to meet the artist in person, celebrate this release, and purchase a signed copy directly from us.
